About Us

Meet Bob & Anne

Company owner Bob DeLong brings 40 years of experience in the construction industry to your remodeling project. Originally from Michigan, he’s called Virginia home since the 1970s, starting out as a surveyor and then joining a home building company. A Carpenter at heart, he’s skilled in all construction trades and started his own company building equestrian facilities in Virginia horse country. That’s how Bob met his wife, Anne, when he built a barn for her first horse, Tara. Two more horses followed, Glory and Licorice, plus dogs Travis and Blackjack and a ton of beloved cats.

In the early 2000s, Bob made the decision to get out of the cold and “come inside” to do interior remodeling work. It was a move that coincided with the huge interest in remodeling generated by the popularity of HGTV. His first remodeling project was his own home, followed by projects for family and friends.

Following a career in media, politics, and non-profit service, plus a side venture owning a flower shop, Anne joined Bob in the family business. In the early days, she was his helper, often starting at 5 am—running out to the truck for various tools, running to Home Depot & Lowes, cleaning up, and sleeping all the way home. It wasn’t long before they hired a team, and Anne took charge of the office, handling customer relations, scheduling, and advertising, and coordinating dozens of details for our projects.

In their spare time, they enjoy their black pony, Licorice, and the German Shepherd twins, Onyx & Ilka. In the summer they tend to the gardens where Bob grows great tomatoes (even canning them for winter!) and Anne plants flowers, and in winter they head to the gym. Bob’s newest hobby is woodworking—making cutting boards, wine racks, and all sorts of things with exotic wood and trees harvested from their own property in Clifton, Virginia. Whenever possible, they head to the beaches of Delaware, OBX, and Florida for shrimp & crabs and long walks by the ocean.

When you meet Bob and Anne, it’s easy to see that they love what they do. It’s a highly rewarding career to see how happy homeowners are when their homes are transformed with a new kitchen, bath, or attic!

Meet the Team

We employ several crews who rotate to our various job sites depending on the skillset needed on a given day. The crews are typically a mix of our own employees and subcontractors. All are skilled tradesmen who are totally trustworthy, eager to please, and nice to have around.  We’re proud to say that our core team of employees has been with us almost since the beginning, and we have long-term relationships with our subcontractors, in some cases more than 15 years. All new hires start out working at our home in Clifton so we can test their skills.
